Dave Weld and The Imperial Flames

Since 1988, “Dave Weld and the Imperial Flames” have continuously toured and performed in Europe, Canada, Japan and the Caribbean, and throughout the United States, North, South, East and West. Their last CD, “Keep on Walkin’”, on Earwig Music, reached number four on the Living Blues radio stations play list. Their last two vans had well over two hundred thousand miles logged on, and we will try to give an idea of the breadth, depth, and impact they achieved by listing countries, states and major festivals (x demote how many times at that festival).

Midwinter Brew Fest 2012

It’s here! Our 15th annual brew fest is on February 19th. Taste beer from over 30 breweries from around the midwest from 1-5pm. Palermo’s Pizza and Usinger’s sausage will be there with us. Music will be provided by the UW Badger alumni marching band and The Form. Tickets are $40 and all proceeds go to benefit the MACC Fund.

Midwinter Homebrew Competition

Our 3rd annual homebrew competition is coming up in February! Last year we had over 400 entries and this year we’re shooting for even more. The winner of the competition will be brewing a batch of beer at our downtown location and you beer will be served at the pub! If you’re a homebrewer this is where you need to be! R.A.S. Movement is one of Milwaukee’s fastest rising reggae bands, with an amazing new sound that is creating a buzz around the city. Performing many different Caribbean genres of music including, Reggae, Roots, Dancehall, Dub and Lover’s Rock. This new culminating group covers many of the hottest new tunes coming out of Jamaica, some old classics and their own original music from their album released in 2008 “Just JAH Works”. Unity…The Band is an original Roots Reggae band. Our influences range from the South Pacific, to the Caribbean. American roots forms of music have also greatly influenced our sound. Unity plays music to dance, trance, and groove to; we like to put on a show that you can feel. With Pita’s melodic Pacific Island Dancehall vocal stylings, Unity takes songs to a unique and fresh place. We also play quite a few Bob Marley songs because we love playing them, and because Bob Marley and the Wailers are just too important to us to not pay respects…

Louie’s 13th Last Regatta

The annual Louie’s Last Regatta is coming up Saturday, September 24th. The event’s title may be inspired by our flagship ale, but it’s about so much more than sail boats and beer.

Louie’s Last Regatta was started in 1999 by a group of Milwaukee sailors who basically wanted one more sailing regatta before they had to pull their boats from the water. To make their effort more attractive to sailors thinking about snow shovels and ski trips this devoted group decided to make Louie’s into a charity event. The first Louie’ Last Regatta brought in $900 and twelve boats participated.

The event grew steadily in popularity and money raised. Major sponsors came forward, boat crews donated and the post race party grew. Louie’s Challenge otherwise known as “sanctioned bribery” was a unique and surprisingly popular fund raising feature of the Regatta.
